Player of the Week

Junior outfielder Dalton James is this week’s TKS player of the week for his efforts in a series of double-headers for the Prairie Fire baseball team.

Over the past week, James has showed his prowess at the plate. He finished the week going 8 for 18, knocking in three RBIs on three doubles. He also scored two runs and nabbed a pair of stolen bases for the Prairie Fire in helping them split a conference doubleheader with Cornell.

The Homer, IL native’s glove was just as impressive. He had eight putouts on eight chances, bumping his season fielding percentage up to .974.

During his third year on the team, James has been the leader for the Prairie Fire. He is batting .386 on the year to lead the team to go with 12 RBIs and nine stolen bases.

During the most recent game against University of Dubuque, James had 2 at bats and an RBI. This helped the Fire win one out of their two games of the doubleheader, 6-5.

As of Thursday afternoon, the Prairie Fire baseball team is 9-14 on the year. The Fire look to improve their record in the upcoming Midwest Conference Crossover tournament located in Mauston, WI. The men will compete against Lawrence University, St.Norbert College, Lawrence University and Beloit College from April 20 to the 22.
