OCTOBER 26

4:15 p.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. Money was reported as being taken over a period of a few weeks.

OCTOBER 28

11:15 p.m. UNWANTED SUBJECT, Campbell House. Campus Safety responded to a report of subjects knocking on doors and trying to gain access to at least two suites.

10:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 260 W. Tompkins- Jazz House. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by someone smoking. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 29

4:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Library. Information was received regarding unauthorized use of equipment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Raub House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a hair dryer.

1 p.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student was transported to Health Services for treatment of a twisted ankle.

2 p.m. INFORMATION, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety assisted the computer center in finding the location of incompatible equipment that was having a negative impact on the network.

4:34 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Neal House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

OCTOBER 30

1:15 a.m. NOISE, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

6:10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, International House- 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a dirty room detector.

OCTOBER 31

2:45 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A car’s rear view window was broken by a soccer ball.

9:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

7 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a dirty detector.

7:25 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Post Hall. A Halloween prank occurred.

11:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM/MALFUNCTION, Beta Theta Pi. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:50 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Centers. Public Safety Building reported a 911 call from the emergency phone outside of E-Wing. The area was checked and no problems were found.

NOVEMBER 1

10:50 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Furrow House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by air freshener.

1:20 p.m. THEFT, Post Hall. Juveniles were reported as taking products from the back of a delivery truck.

9:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM/MALFUNCTION, Beta Theta Pi. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:45 p.m. LOST OR MISPLACED ITEM, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A white MacBook laptop was reported missing.

NOVEMBER 2

12:05 a.m. NOISE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

2:30 a.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT, Post Hall. A stray hamster found in Post 3 was turned into Campus Safety. The hamster was reunited with its owner later in the day.

4:10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Raub House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by hair spray.

4:15 p.m. INFORMATION, 251 S. West. Well being check.

The Director of Campus Safety reserves the right to withhold certain information temporarily in rare cases where publication would, for instance, jeopardize an ongoing investigation or the confidentiality of a victim.
