Last Friday, David Marquardt put the perfect cap on his collegiate golf career with a 14th place finish at the Division III National Championships.

Birdying his final hole as a member of Prairie Fire, Marquardt carded a 298 for the four-round tournament to become the fifth golfer in Knox history to win All-America honors.

BRASELTON, Ga. – Two rounds into the NCAA Division III National Championship, Knox senior David Marquardt finds himself tied for 12th overall.

The Prairie Fire men’s golf team withstood a late charge from defending champion Monmouth last Saturday to win the Midwest Conference Championship. With the victory, Knox earned a berth at the NCAA Division III Championship next week in Braselton, Georgia.

The men’s tennis team finished up their 2008 campaign at the MWC Singles and Doubles Championships in Madison, Wis. The highlights of the weekend were some encouraging play towards the program’s future and the final matches of a few graduating seniors.
