Winter is in full tilt, and, for some people, this is horribly depressing. For others, it is only moderately depressing, but the point is that there is something about winter that gets people down. Well, there is a real mood disorder called SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) that proves that scientists are the laziest people around when it comes to naming new stuff.

Recently, a study was published about the effects sleep deprivation has on the way the human mind performs. In the study, one of the major findings was that sleep deprivation, if it goes on for long enough, effectively renders people inebriated.

Mysterious pink pyramid

Not much is known about the pink pyramid, which made an appearance in SMC A-107 sometime toward the end of fall term.
It stands about one inch larger than the classroom door on all sides. For students who had class in or around A-107, the pink pyramid was a slight inconvenience, but was mostly a source of confusion.
