Campus Safety Log: Intentional fire, telephone threats

May 11

2:46 a.m., INTENTIONAL FIRE, Hamblin Hall — Campus Safety, along with Galesburg police and fire departments, responded to a fire alarm caused by burnt paper. A fire extinguisher was used to put out the fire. An investigation is ongoing, and the incident has been referred to OSD.

May 10

9:10 p.m., PHONE HARASSMENT, campus — Campus Safety and GPD responded to a report of telephone threats made to a staff member by a person with whom the staff member had been in a relationship.

9:50 a.m., CRIMINAL DAMAGE, 251 S. West St. — Campus Safety responded to a report of broken window in a residential building. A work order was submitted.

May 8

8:27 p.m., INFORMATION, 251 S. West St. — Campus Safety responded to a report of a cannabis violation in a residential area. The violation was not confirmed, but the responding officer discovered residential violations. The matter was referred to OSD.

April 29

SEXUAL ASSAULT, unknown location — Campus Safety opened an investigation into a third party allegation of sexual assault that took place in an unknown location at an unknown time between persons known to each other. The investigation was completed, and the allegation was determined to be unfounded. The incident was referred to the Title IX coordinator.

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, campus — Campus Safety opened a sexual harassment investigation regarding a false allegation of sexual assault. The investigation was completed and referred to the Title IX coordinator.

April 27

12:30 a.m., SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, Beta Theta Pi — Campus Safety opened and completed an investigation into an allegation of sexual harassment. The incident was referred to OSD.
