Hillel takes action through community dialogue

Dear Knox College community,

Recently, our campus has had an opportunity to view exactly what modern day anti-Semitism looks like. Our Jewish community has felt threatened and oppressed. We recognize that we are not the only community who has felt this way on our campus. Hate speech is unacceptable. We are not here to fight, we are here to build. Therefore, as both individuals and as a community, we would like to talk about how hate transpires on our campus. We welcome every individual who has ever felt hate of any kind for who they are, how they were born, what they believe in, etc. to join us in a community conversation about how hate has made us feel. We hope that by having these difficult conversations we can bring our community closer and show that Knox will not tolerate hate. Action comes in many forms; help us create meaningful change through dialogue.

This event will be held on April 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Room. This community discussion will be focused on how hate has affected you personally in order to break down barriers and bring us closer as a community.
