Player of the Week

Senior Rocky Plaza has been a critical player for the men’s soccer team. With the team’s recent confirmation that they will play in the conference tournament, it is clear that Plaza has been an important asset to reaching their goals this season. Plaza contributed one goal in the team’s game against Lawrence, helping achieve the 6-0 win that clinched the spot for the men in the Midwest Conference Tournament.

Plaza has 12 shots on goal, with one goal and one assist, giving him a shooting percentage of .083. As a midfielder, Plaza doesn’t have a lot of opportunity to score given the role of players in his position. Plaza has averaged one goal per season for the team and has been a consistent player for the Prairie Fire. Plaza contributes through his strong leadership as a senior on the team and his defensive efforts.

The men will face off against Cornell College at home on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. It will be the men’s final guaranteed home game and will determine their place in the conference.
